Korean tea culture is one deeply rooted in Buddhism and enlightenment. Many of the earliest Buddhist temples in Korea are said to have birthed the tea culture that now permeates the country. Similar to many eastern cultures, the styles are dependent on the processing of the tea leaves and range from low oxidation, in green teas, to high oxidation, in fermented dark teas, each of which is used to aid in easing the mind, as well as the body.
